BroadwayWorld announced today the launch of BROADWAY'S NEXT ON STAGE SEASON 2 - an online musical theatre singing competition for student performers sponsored by Broadway Records! We're back by popular demand after an incredible first season which included 2000 contestants, 400k votes, a panel of incredible Broadway star judges, and $2000 going to the winner's charities!

Inspired by your favorite network TV singing contests, the site is inviting high school and college aged students to submit videos of themselves performing a song from the musical theatre canon to enter the competition.

Judges for season 2 include Lesli Margherita, Courtney Reed, Kate Rockwell, Brittney Johnson, Arielle Jacobs, and Kyle Taylor Parker! The competition is hosted by BroadwayWorld's own Richard Ridge!

The summer venue in New York State has shifted its programming from full musical productions to a cabaret series. Forestburgh Playhouse in Sullivan County, New York, will offer a series of concerts at its outdoor venue featuring Broadway favorites later this summer. The performances have social distancing and sanitization protocols in place. The Seventy Five and Thrive lineup, named in honor of the group’s 75th anniversary, kicks off July 18 with Kyle Taylor Parker (Kinky Boots) in an evening of soul renditions of Broadway staples.

Shoshana Bean (Waitress, Songs for a New World, Wicked, Hairspray) will join Kyle Taylor Parker (Kinky Boots, Smokey Joe's Cafe) on his upcoming album, "Broadway Soul Vol. 2." The concept album arranged and produced remotely, will also feature Blaine Alden Krauss (Hamilton, The Cher Show) and Natalie Joy Johnson (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde).
